Happy Tails
Nothing is more satisfying than seeing a formerly homeless or neglected animal find a happy new home. These lucky kitties found forever homes through City Kitties.

Turkey
Turkey got his name from the unfortunate way he came to City Kitties. A day before Thanksgiving, his former "owners" abandoned this sweet guy in a carrier outside in the freezing cold. But Turkey didn't have to wait long for his new mom to find him--and they are clearly a great match! When we dropped Turkey off at his new apartment, we could tell it was just the right place for him. As you can see from this photo of his first evening at home, he agrees wholeheartedly. Turkey has been renamed Flip for his amazing ability to do backflips while playing with a wand toy!
Sasha
This big, handsome boy was abandoned and ended up living alone in a boarding cage at the vet's for nearly a year before City Kitties got to him. Thankfully, we were able to find him a foster home with lots of space, playmates, and a caring foster mom. Unfortunately, his time in "prison" took a toll on Sasha, who had some strange quirks and unpleasant habits. Many adopters looked at Sasha, but no one thought he was quite the right cat for them. Meanwhile, his foster mom grew attached. Sasha got along well with her two kitties, Gandalf and Neelix, and even moved with her to a new apartment. After many months, she decided it was time to adopt him! Sasha is one lucky guy. We know he's in a great home where he'll never be lonely again!
Morgan/MooMoo
Morgan (aka MooMoo) was a stray living near Clark Park. A local rescuer cared for Morgan for several years but hoped she could learn to be an indoor kitty someday. Morgie-Moo came to our place and brought her outdoor stray skills with her. Most mice wouldn't dare enter our house, but this holstein-patterned gal managed to find one--and to jump directly into the pan of dinner cooking on our stove while catching it. Morgan survived without a scratch, but we can't say the same for the mouse. Soon Morgan was transferred to another foster home where she could have all the attention. Passed up by adopters for a full year, she became a great lap cat and a reliable alarm clock to her foster mom and dad. But just as we were losing hope that she'd ever find her forever home, the perfect adopter came along. We'll miss you, MooMoo!
Fred & Daphne
This dynamic duo were former strays rescued by a concerned citizen. During their stay in a City Kitties foster home, Fred and Daphne spent time with big brother Nelson, who showed them the ropes. They were a popular pick among adopters with their handsome stripes, but ultimately Fred and Daphne went to a new mom looking for a sis and bro pair. These two are now known as Sissy and Brudder and are obviously well-loved! Updated photo
Nelson
A worried neighbor found this young tabby tom near 47th and Hazel walking with a limp and brought him to City Kitties. We were hoping for the best, but Nelson was diagnosed with bone cancer in his shoulder joint. We had no other choice but to amputate
to remove the cancerous tissue. After some time to heal from the surgery, Nelson adjusted to life on three legs quickly--his zest for life was unmatched, and he could even beat energetic kittens going up and down the stairs! After a brief stint with an adopter that didn't quite work out, Nelson was adopted by his foster moms' roommate. It was a very happy ending, since all three women love this character of a cat, and he can now welcome new foster kitties into their home. Watch a video of Nelson on YouTube
Chai

Chai was one of Crumpet's beautiful babies born on September 11. This little tabby girl was fiesty and inquisitive. Always in the mood to explore, she was happy running all over the house and climbing human legs--but would soon have to crash for a nap. Chai went to her new home in Roxborough with her sister Biscuit and her new mom and dad.
Biscuit

This little girl was the first born in the "tea party" litter and looks a lot like her mom with her lovely gray spots. Though she hogged all of mom's milk in the first few weeks of life (and looked like she might grow up to be a real beefcake!), Biscuit turned out to be the small, shy one! Just as she was getting her bearings and learning that humans can be pretty nice after all, she went home with her rambunctious sister, Chai.
Earl Gray

Everyone fell head over heels for Earl Gray, with her gorgeous fur coat and sweet disposition. Miss Gray was the first to greet us at the door at dinnertime and usually the first to explore a new space as well. Not averse to human leg-climbing with sis Chai, she could cause a ruckus too! Earl Gray went home to her new mom with her sister, Oolong.
Oolong

Oolong was always ready for a party in her gray tuxedo. She was the biggest of Crumpet's litter, with a big personality to match! We know she and Earl Gray are livin' it up in their new Powelton Village home.
