Cilantro

Cilantro

Cilantro showed up with her mom and siblings at a late summer farmer's market. Lucky for this friendly kitten, she and her family were scooped up and taken inside. Cilantro made friends with a few other kitties and a small dog in her foster home. She and her siblings kept their foster mom busy! Cilantro was adopted into a wonderful new home where she can continue to grow and thrive.

Minke

MinkeMinke showed up on his rescuer's doorstep on a hot August day. He was anxious to make friends and would rush up to any other cat nearby and rub against them. When he rushed up to a pack of raccoons in hopes of making them his new buddies, his foster mom knew he needed to come inside for his own safety. Minke wasn't in foster care for long--his super sweet personality charmed the first folks who met him, and Minke was adopted soon after. He has a new feline buddy in his forever home.

Orwell

OrwellOrwell and her little brother were dumped in a cardboard box on a West Philly porch at the tender age of three weeks. Starving and all alone with no mother to care for them, these two would have died quickly. But a kind-hearted rescuer scooped them up and brought them inside, bottle-feeding them every few hours. Sadly, Orwell's sibling didn't make it--he was just too tiny and couldn't recover from the ordeal. But Orwell's story has a happy ending: she is healthy and happy, living it up in her own West Philly apartment with her new mom. Plus, her name is now Kim Basinger, which we think is possibly the best cat name ever.

Crumpet

CrumpetA concerned neighbor found this scared kitty in his garden. We brought her inside, hoping we could find a foster home where Crumpet could have her babies. But less than 24 hours later, Crumpet had a litter of four beautiful kittens in our spare room. Earl Gray, Oolong, Biscuit, and Chai were adopted in pairs, but nobody showed any interest in Crumpet. She moved to an experienced foster home who could give her the time and attention she needed, and Crumpet blossomed into a sweet and loving cat. It took nearly a year for her new family to come along, but now Crumpet is enjoying life in her own apartment with her new mom and dad. We'll miss you, Crumpet!

Pickle

PicklePickle wandered right up to a City Kitties fundraising event--talk about good instincts! Filthy and hungry, he was thankful to be inside. Pickle spent a few months in foster care playing with his canine foster friends until the right family came along. Now he's living it up in a house all his own with a mom and dad to dote on him, and a snake terrarium for "cat TV!"

Iris

Iris

Iris was found wandering around the city in the cold. She enjoyed life indoors and would take every opportunity to cuddle, be carried like a baby, or hop on her foster mom's shoulder for a ride. After months in the care of her foster mom, Iris' new family found her. She now enjoys waking her "parents" up mewing for attention! Good luck, Iris!

Pierce

PierceThis handsome cat was found wandering the streets with a severe eye infection--poor Pierce's eyelids were nearly swollen shut. With antibiotics and TLC, he recovered and his personality emerged. No longer sick and exhausted, Pierce became active and full of energy, keeping his foster brothers on their toes. Pierce was adopted by a family in New Jersey who can appreciate his antics. Good luck, Pierce!

Cleo

Cleo

Cleo wandered into her rescuer's home. Sweet and pretty, it wasn't long before she found a new home in the suburbs with her mom. As it turns out, her new brother, Darcy, wandered into their mom's house right before she adopted Cleo! Cleo (now Lizzy) and Darcy enjoy playing and chasing each other around the house and just hanging out.

Caverly

Cav (picture coming soon) and his sister, Lucy, were abandoned in the city streets to fend for themselves. Both cats have cerobellar hypoplasia (CH), a neurological problem that affects balance and coordination. While Lucy could at least get from point A to point B without too much trouble, Cav could barely walk. Unaware of his comical mode of transportation, Cav happily dragged himself onto the couch for a cuddle session and flopped towards the food bowl for some nibblies. The siblings' foster mom decided to keep Lucy (who joined Ivan, another former City Kitties foster with CH), but we weren't sure Cav would ever find the right adopter. We couldn't believe it when Cav's new mom showed up! She works with special needs children and welcomed this special needs kitty into her life. Caverly's every need is tended to in his new home, where he is free to stumble and galumph with flair.

Trevor

TrevorTrevor showed up at his rescuer's doorstep, skinny, pathetic, and bloated with worms. With good vet care and food, Trevor blossomed into a handsome gent with a mischevious personality. He loved wrestling with the dog and other cats in his foster home. Fearless and full of kittenish energy, he finally found the right home! Trevor (now Tirik) and his new mom are a great match, and he LOVES his new brother, Chom-Chom.

Wally

WallyWally wandered right up to her rescuer outside of a West Philly apartment complex--just feet away from a busy street. Next thing she knew, Wally was inside! No one could believe how sweet this kitty was. Wally enjoyed making "happy feet" on everything, rolling over for a belly rub, or just sitting next to her humans on the couch to enjoy their company. Now she lives in a Center City apartment with her new mom. Wally's got a human to love her, a couch, and a window with a great view. What more could a kitty want?

Sugar

SugarSugar was found abandoned in a vacant apartment. When the landlord staff found her, this senior kitty had been without food for days. Despite her hunger, she was more interested in human attention than kibble, and was dubbed Sugar because of her sweet disposition. Sugar came to live with a City Kitties foster home. She was so grateful to be in a safe place with plenty of love. Sugar was with us for a few months until her forever mom came along. Now she lives in New Jersey with several feline brothers and sisters.

Bing & Bump

Bing and BumpThis tabby duo represents all the best in neighborhood collaboration to help stray cats. A kind rescuer saw Bing and Bump struggling to survive near 41st and Pine with their mother and older sibling. Too concerned to leave them on their own, she contacted Project MEOW for help trapping the family and was able to get all four kitties safely indoors. The kittens received star treatment with their story and pictures posted all over the web. Another concerned West Philly resident raised money for their vet bills. Meanwhile, Bing and Bump's rescuer spent countless hours socializing the girls and preparing them for a new life. City Kitties posted them up for adoption, and it didn't take long for such an adorable pair to find the right home with their fabulous new mom. Good luck, Bing and Bump, we're all rooting for you!

Mario

Mario

This young cat wandered up to his rescuer on the street and asked to be taken home. Handsome, affectionate, and energetic, it only took a few weeks to find Mario his forever home. He lives just off South Street with his new mom, dad, and matching gray sister in a house with plenty of room to run and play.
